The Better Home Card is provided by Notable and is a closed-end, unsecured line of credit up to $50,000, with up to 20% cash back applied toward your balance at participating home goods and hardware stores. The line of credit is issued on a debit card to be used specifically on your home-related spending. The Better Home Card offers fixed rates as low as 7.99% APR, with 3 or 5 year terms. You can choose to use your maximum line of credit amount, but are under no obligation to use the entire amount. You only repay interest and principal on the amount you’ve borrowed during the 12 month draw period.
Notable is the lender that provides the Better Home Card. When you get a Better Home Card, you are getting the personal line of credit from Notable.
No, the Better Home Card is a line of credit with much lower interest rates than a traditional credit card. We issue you a card so you have an easy way to access your funds. You can also use your Better Home Card funds to make payments to vendors by cash or check in just a few easy steps. To learn more about your vendor payment options please contact Notable.
A HELOC is a home equity line of credit secured by your home’s equity, whereas the Better Home Card is an unsecured line of credit. This offering is intended specifically for home improvement use, but not secured by a lien on your home. It is also a closed-end personal line of credit, meaning that you have 12 months to use up to your maximum amount, and then you enter a repayment period where the amount owed must be repaid within a set amount of time.
To qualify for a Better Home Card, there are minimum credit score and debt-to-income thresholds. You must have a credit score of at least 680. Currently, the Better Home Card is available to homeowners or buyers in the following states: Alabama, Arizona, Arkansas, California, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Louisiana, Maine, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, North Carolina, North Dakota, Ohio, Oregon, Rhode Island, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Washington, West Virginia, Wisconsin, Wyoming, and Washington DC.
The Better Home Card can be used at businesses that offer goods or services related to your home. Spend on appliances, home entertainment, hardware, and furniture or pay contractors for installations, renovations, and repairs. If your card is not accepted on a qualifying home-related purchase, simply upload a copy of an invoice or receipt by logging into your Better Home Card account. Once approved, Notable will transfer the funds to your bank.
You can earn up to 20% cash back on home spend of qualifying purchases you make at participating retailers using your Better Home Card. For example, if you spend $100 on a purchase with a 10% discount, you will pay $100 and receive a $10 Cash Back Credit, which will be applied to your balance.
Which vendors give cash back statement credits?
No, applying will have no impact on your credit score. Notable will only run a soft credit check to approve you, which won’t affect your score.
You can make your payments and set up autopay online via Notable. Your payment due date will be shown at the time of your approved application and you will be billed monthly based on the amount you spend.
You can qualify for a 3 or 5-year payback term. Both terms have a 12 month draw period, where you will only make interest payments on anything you spend. Once your repayment period starts, you’ll pay principal & interest on what you spent.
You must make at least 1 transaction within 60 days of your Better Home Card origination date. If you do not make any transactions within that period of time, your account will be closed due to inactivity.
No, there are no prepayment penalties for the Better Home Card.
